22nd August 2006 - Against the SEDD Planners

Can I suggest we scrap the fixture against the Planners or at least the preliminaries.
We should all go off to the pub for a couple of hours and come back five minutes before dark and play the last over.
Anyway another enjoyable game 18 overs 12 a side
Judas Anderson and Judas Bennett playing for the opposition..
Lots of dropped catches Birchmore & Robinson and Lofthouse the culprits.
A chaceable total of 79 was credit to bowlers Robinson,Birchmore,Reynolds,and Sheppard.
It has to be said the Planners also bowled very tidily.
Four wickets for Chris Lofthouse should have been five missed an easy caught and bowled.
Maximums for Mike (Dexter)Chase and skipper Dave Fairholm. Good little cameos from most with Eric the right man at the end. with a valuable 12 match winning runs not out. Kept Birchmore well away from the crease Number 12.
For the third successive match against the Planners this has gone to darkness West Linton batting and to the last over. The only difference on this occasion is it didn't go to the last ball Eric Robinson made sure of that

This was a huge improvement on the previous match against The Bush in which only Nigel Reynolds took a wicket Only Sandy Anderson reached a maximum with Dave Fairholm the only other batsman to reach double figures. The catching even by WLG standards was dreadful.
