Captains Report.
WL Gordons gained their first victory of the season with 3 overs to spare and 6 wickets remaining.
In a true but difficult pitch to score the Planners totalled 92 for 6 courtesy of some very tight WLG bowling and slick fielding.
The opening six overs yielded only 20 runs and 2 caught wickets both to Eric Robinson (2 for 12 )a skier caught by skipper Dave Fairholm (now there's a surprise) and a C& B..
The Shaz express Sunday or Daily bowled his max 3 overs for a miserly 4 runs on debut.
Nigel Reynolds and Chris Lofthouse continued to put the screws on the Planners before the quick thinking Nick Scherlock brilliantly ran out Fleming of his own bowling. Both sandy Anderson and Dave F polished up late wickets and kept the final 3 overs down to 8 runs.
Sandy tried a speculative throw down run out from about 6 inches with top scorer Davidson about a country mile from home but not as good as JB effort last week. Phil did well and was unlucky not to hold on to a snick from danger man Davidson.
Dave F and Sandy A opened the inning and 2 boundaries off the first over and 3 singles gave WLG the perfect start. Sandy was bowled for 9 going for a 3rd consecutive boundary and Shaz and Dave kept the score ticking over steadily until the score reached 49.
Shaz was next player to see his middle stump removed for 14 and Mike Chase was beaten by a low one from Pope for 7.. DaveF left the field after his second consecutive maximum 25not out. A cameo 11 for Cameron who had also fielded well then a kamikaze run out left it to Dave Wright 10 not out and Eric R to smash the winning 4 with about 3 overs remaining..
